Fica num lugar muito agradável. O bolinho de bacalhau é muito saboroso. Mas trazem a conta sem você pedir para que vá embora logo para liberar a mesa para outros. Justo quando íamos pedir mais um prato. Aí fomos tomar um vinho do Douro e comer um bacalhau em outro lugar. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

We just got to the other side of the river after walking down the roadway and this was one of the first places we walked by. After initially stopping and looking at the menu outside, and being greeted by a young man we walked on as his engagement skills left a fair bit to be desired. We looked at a couple of other places further along and decided to go back and give it a try. Again the same young man as we walked in, and first asked if we were going to eat, or just drink? Not a great start, as we planned on having lunch. Some training would be a good idea on the welcoming guests front in our opinion. From there it was smooth sailing as we got a couple of Super Bocks, and ordered a shared samosa dish that was filled with egg roll filling which was odd. We also ordered a shared chicken dish that came with a nice salad and fries. Given our initial impressions I expected blowback on the shared orders, but thankfully there was none. The food was very good, out quickly, and piping hot! Another Super Bock each and we were out of there for $23.50 euros, which we felt was very reasonable given where we were in a very touristy area. It's at one end of the promenade, so if you are starting at the far end, you'll likely have chosen something else by the time you get that far. If however, you walk across the transit bridge it'll be one of the first restaurants you encounter. There is an upstairs seating area that was empty, that house impeccably clean restrooms that require a code to get into. The outside hawker, was very timid as well, which makes it tough to get people in the door. Some top notch training for the staff on getting and retaining an afternoon lunch crowd, and Restaurante Dourum should have a queue down the block. Oh, and even more oddly the signage does not match the bill you are given. The food is good, the service and experience need to match the food. In spite of all of the inconsistencies the food and possibilities warrant a four star review from us.
