Maravilhoooso. O primeiro momento foi logo surpreendente e ainda não nos tínhamos sentado. Os momentos seguintes estavam à altura das suas estrelas. Tudo excelente e sempre com uma nota de inovação. Observação ainda para o magnífico espaço e para o serviço. A cozinha é à nossa frente e o silêncio com que preparavam os pratos/serviço é de realçar. Obrigada pela surpresa final! Parabéns. Eneko Lisboa located in Alcântara, from the well know Basque chef Eneko Atxa, awarded with 5 Michelin stars, it’s the most recent project from Penha Longa Resort. This place highlights the philosophy of Azurmendi restaurant, the 3 Michelin star restaurant of fine dining held by the chef. When entering the place, the former Alcântara Café, you are welcomed by the concierges at the lobby - in a red carpet, some deco trees and a gloomy atmosphere. At first you see Basque, another restaurant of the same project, where you can have a more informal experience with plates to share, while behind what seems to be a huge door, you can enter the lobby of this fine dining restaurant. Prepare yourself to be welcomed with a glass of Txacolina blanc 2018 and enjoy a so called welcome picnic with four enjoyable petit fours in a sober and intimate environment. We soon understood that the whole experience makes you feel like you are entering in a play and the waiters have that theatrical mood. After a while we entered the restaurant itself, a rounded room with some tables, adequately displayed and far enough away from each other, as desired. We were sitted right in front of the kitchen and could see some of the preparation. We went for the Erroak Menu as suggested by the head chef accompanied by a bottle of AMA Blanc 2015. All dishes were exquisite and expressed well what we had already heard from the chef and it’s sustainable roots. If we had to rank the best experiences were the beetroot tartar and the so famous roasted lobster. We also had the opportunity to try roasted pigeon with a foie toast to test our taste buds - here we have to confess that the foie was a bit harsh compared to the rest of the meal. For sure the experience is a top level one, not only from the food perspective but aso from the entire set, the originality, the concept, the mood and the welcoming service. A place to go and be surprised.
